1. Developed our service activity in Tissue and Cell Expression (TCE) analyses.
During the year 2008 Helios BioSciences has pursued the commercialization of service activities in the characterization of gene and protein expression in tissue sections. We provide analysis of genes by in situ hybridization on frozen tissue sections or paraffin embedded tissue sections (TCE) .
2. Developed our Dynamic Modeling platform.
a. We have started the experimental validation of new immunosuppressive therapeutic targets that have been identified by simulations in our Immuno-dyn model.
b. We have considerably accelerated the computing of our dynamic models.
c. Within the VALAPODYN project we have increased our SIMPATHWAY database of signal transduction. It now hosts a coherent molecular interaction network of 3 000 nodes (genes and proteins) and 11 000 edges (validated interactions between nodes).
d. Within the VALAPODYN project we have produced the first version of a dynamic model of neurodegeneration (over 500 genes / proteins and 3,000 interactions). A second version will be delivered during the first quarter of 2009.
In 2009 we plan to out license our immunosuppressive drug targets and provide access to our dynamic modeling technology, while pursuing the TCE service activity.
